Our Board

Tom Herington, Board Chairman

Tom Herington is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been working with adults, families and children since 1985.  For the past 34 years he has been committed to helping individuals reach their potential, through exploring their challenges and struggles, from a faith-based perspective.  Tom was a co-founder of Counseling and Consultation Services/SteppenStone Youth Treatment Services (CCS/SSYTS) in 1990, and recently retired as their President and CEO in order to return to his passion of counseling.  While leading CCS/SSYTS, he not only provided counseling to the men, women and children served by the corporation, but also gave guidance and counsel to hundreds of employees who worked under his leadership.

Dr. Doug Dotterweich, Board Treasurer

Upon his retirement as an Economics Professor from East Tennessee State University, Dr. Dotterweich was looking for a new challenge. Doug became acquainted, through the church, with Zacchaeus Ministries founders, Daryl and Jan Summerford, over the last several years. “Their vision for a residential faith-based ministry that Christ can use to regenerate men and their families from the grip of addiction is contagious and sorely-needed throughout East Tennessee.” says Dr. Dotterwich. Doug serves as Zacchaeus Board Treasurer.

Mr. Sexton is board certified by the Virginia Board of Psychology with specialty training as a certified sex offender treatment provider (CSOTP) and an approved provider by the Tennessee Sex Offender Treatment Board.
